Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 22, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Tech Pedia, operated by Abir Distribution BD, uses cookies and similar technologies on techpediabd.com.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information associated with customer accounts, purchases, deliveries, and other interactions.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that websites save on your device. They help websites recognize a browser, maintain login sessions, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the website.
Similar technologies include:
- Local storage: Information saved in your browser that may remain between visits until it is removed.
- Session storage: Information saved for a browser session, generally cleared when that session ends.
- Tracking pixels and tags: Technologies that can send information about page visits or actions to a service provider.
For readability, this policy refers to these technologies collectively as “cookies” where appropriate. Not every website feature necessarily uses a cookie; some information may instead be stored in your customer account or processed through our servers.
2. How we use these technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to support the following purposes:
Account access and security
Our website uses a custom authentication system and offers Google sign-in. Authentication technologies help maintain signed-in sessions and support secure access to customer accounts.
When you choose Google sign-in, Google processes information involved in authentication under its own privacy and cookie policies. The technologies involved may depend on your Google account settings and how you access the sign-in service.
Shopping features and preferences
Our website remembers shopping carts, wishlists, and preferences between visits. Depending on the feature and whether you are signed in, this information may be associated with your account or retained through browser storage.
These features help you continue shopping without having to recreate selections each time you visit.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our website, including which pages they visit and how they interact with our services.
Depending on its configuration, Google Analytics may process browser or device information, referral information, interactions, and online identifiers. We use analytics information to evaluate website performance and improve the shopping experience.
Advertising measurement
We use Meta Pixel, also known as Facebook Pixel, to measure interactions associated with our advertising and understand how visitors respond to our website.
Depending on its configuration, Meta Pixel may send Meta information about page visits, shopping-related actions, browser or device characteristics, and online identifiers. Meta may associate information received with information it already holds, subject to its policies and your settings.
Analytics and advertising technologies are separate from technologies needed to maintain account access or complete essential shopping functions.
3. Payments and delivery integrations
We use EPS for payment processing and integrate with Steadfast and Pathao for courier services.
An integration does not necessarily mean that a provider places cookies on your browser. Courier API communications, for example, can take place between servers without using browser cookies.
If you visit or are redirected to a payment provider’s website, that provider may use cookies under its own policy.
Sharing order, payment, or delivery information is addressed in our Privacy Policy. It is not covered solely by this Cookie Policy.
4. First-party and third-party technologies
First-party technologies are set or managed through our website to support features such as authentication and shopping preferences.
Third-party technologies are provided by other organizations, such as Google and Meta. These providers may process information under their own privacy and cookie policies.
We do not control every aspect of a third party’s use of information. You should review the relevant provider’s policies and account settings to understand its practices and available controls.
5. How long information remains stored
Storage periods vary according to the technology and its purpose:
- Session cookies: generally expire when the browser session ends.
- Persistent cookies: remain until their configured expiry or until you delete them.
- Local storage: may remain until it is removed by you or the website.
- Third-party technologies: have storage periods determined by the provider and the configuration used.
We have not yet completed a verified inventory of individual cookie names and expiry periods. For that reason, this policy does not state fixed durations that have not been confirmed.
Deleting browser cookies or storage does not necessarily delete information already held in your customer account or received by a service provider. Personal-information retention is addressed separately in our Privacy Policy.
6. Your choices and controls
Website controls
As of this policy’s effective date, Tech Pedia does not provide a dedicated cookie consent banner or an on-site preference centre for accepting or rejecting optional cookies.
This policy is an explanation of our practices. It does not, by itself, obtain your consent to optional tracking. Where applicable law requires consent before a technology is used, that consent must be obtained separately.
Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete cookies.
- Block all cookies or restrict third-party cookies.
- Clear local storage and other website data.
- Set permissions for individual websites.
You can usually find these options in your browser’s privacy, security, or site settings. Controls may need to be configured separately for each browser and device you use.
Blocking or deleting technologies required for website functionality may sign you out or prevent carts, wishlists, and preferences from being remembered.
Google and Meta controls
Google and Meta offer privacy and advertising settings through their services. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.
These controls have limitations: changing advertising preferences does not necessarily stop all data collection, and blocking cookies alone may not stop every form of tracking or information transfer.
7. Personal information and cookies
Information collected through cookies and similar technologies may qualify as personal information when it identifies you or can be associated with you.
Our Privacy Policy explains our broader handling of personal information, including customer details used for authentication, order processing, delivery, and support.
If you have questions about information associated with your account or browser, contact us using the email address below.
8. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website features, service providers, tracking technologies, or applicable requirements change.
The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Where a change requires notice or fresh consent under applicable law, we will provide that notice or obtain that consent separately.
